How we work

We work by appointment to try to ensure we can give time and privacy to those visiting the Outreach Centre and King's Pantry food bank.

We ask clients to bring in a shopping list of items they usually buy, or need, along with shopping bags. We have a fridge and freezer so can provide other fresh items, depending on what has been donated. The King's Pantry also consists of a toiletry and cleaning bank.

Outreach help for those in temporary accommodation does not include Furniture & Household Items

Outreach Centre Client Service Agreement

  1. A professional referral is required for all clients to access our services.
  2. Upon receiving a referral, we will contact the client. Appointments will be scheduled within 72 hours of receiving a referral.
  3. We will attempt to contact clients up to three times before closing a referral if we do not receive a response.
  4. Once a referral is closed, clients must obtain a new professional referral to access services again.
  5. Clients are asked to bring shopping bags and a shopping list to their appointment.

Please note that although a referral has been made, the Making A Difference to Maidstone Outreach Team retains the discretion to decline further support following the completion of our internal verification process.

REFERRAL PARTNER NOTICE 3/7/25

The Trustees and Senior Management Team want to make you aware of the following:

- Between the end of July and end of August this year our outreach offices will be moving from 48 Church Street (up stairs) to 49 Church Street (current Pop-up Shop)

- We are aiming to move quickly and only expect minimal impact on our Outreach work during this time.

- We will endevour where possible to keep services accessible but apologise if this is not the case

- Please refer to details of additional services in Maidstone who you can contact if we are unable to help
