Homelessness
In the first instance you need to make contact with Maidstone Borough Council’s Housing and Outreach team located at Trinity House, Church Street. You can walk in or call 01622 602984.
From 2nd January – 1st April the Maidstone Churches Winter Shelter operates daily from the United Reformed church’s hall, accessible from Fremlin Walk (next to Pandora). Refreshments, support and advice is available to those homeless or living in temporary accommodation, vulnerably houses or in genuine need from 3.30 – 5.30pm. A hot, home-cooked meal can be booked for later and they can house people overnight (certain restrictions apply). Tel: 01622 296450.
Maidstone Day Centre, Knightrider Street is open from 8am – 2pm Monday to Friday and can assist with food, washing facilities and advice for those homeless. Tel: 01622 674064
Food Support
Some of these organisations will require a referral from someone you are working with, like a social worker, Early Help family liaison officer, housing officer, NHS, Job Centre, Council, Probation, supported accommodation liaison, or other.
The Salvation Army, Union Street provides food parcels, by referral, on Wednesday 1pm – 3pm – by arrangement. Do not turn up. Tel: 01622 681808.

Trinity Community Larder, Church Street serves residents of High Street ward and part of East ward on Tuesday and Thursday from 1.30 – 4pm. £3 for 12 items.
Shepway Community Larder at Golding Homes Community Hub, Northumberland Road serves residents of Shepway on Tuesday and Thursday from 10am – 1pm. £3 for 12 items.
Parkwood Community Larder at Rosemary Graham Centre, Somner Walk serves residents of Parkwood on Wednesday and Friday from 10am – 1pm. £3 for 12 items.

Food Outreach
There are hot meals served under the arches at All Saints Church at the end of Knightrider Street on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesdays from 7-8pm. There is also a soup run every Sunday from 3.30 – 4.30pm (except January – March when it works with the Maidstone Churches’ Winter Shelter at the United Reform Church).
