Working In Partnership With Maidstone CAN

Making A Difference To Maidstone What we are all about!!
Here is a short 5 minute video explaining what we do
How we do this
MADM works with clients based on referrals made from statutory organisations like Social Services, Probation, Housing Associations, Community Wardens, Kent Police, and many more. We provide practical and emotional support, signposting to external partners and organisations, as well as providing varying volunteering opportunities. MADM picks up daily surplus food from local supermarkets, affording us to offer fresh fruit, vegetables and bakery which are gratefully received. Our charity shop on the High Street has the most incredible selection of preloved furniture, clothes, fancy dress, uniforms, electrical equipment, household goods, crockery and cutlery and much, much more.
Who we are
Making A Difference to Maidstone (MADM) supports individuals and families who find themselves in crisis through homelessness, domestic abuse, addiction, financial need, unemployment, relationship breakdown, and more.
The shop at 49 Church Street was our first permanent charity shop and office followed by a second shop in the Mall, these were all consolidated into the old Argos building where the retail operations and storage facilities came together.
What we do
MADM helps the people of Maidstone to find freedom from suffering poverty, homelessness, addiction, social isolation, disadvantage, and crisis.
MADM believes this can be achieved through faith in Jesus and hope for the future.
The charity’s Christian ethos aims to bring hope and restoration to those in crisis through meeting their needs both directly and indirectly with bespoke support.

Testimonials:
It has been so helpful, thank you. It has helped transform the girls bedroom from a shell back to a bedroom. I’ve also managed to get them some bunk beds and carpet.

"You have helped me so much with somewhere to rest during the day as a homeless person trying to keep my night job. Thanks for helping me by booking me in for somewhere to sleep from time-to-time and I now have somewhere to live and rest. Thank you for helping me during this transition."
Outreach Team
“Just wanted to say a huge thank you to yourself and the team at MADM for the food package that was put together for my Client and her children at such short notice yesterday! The client was incredibly grateful for your service and the food provided “

As an older bride, and very short and petite, I was looking for a dress to cover all my bumps and wrinkles and I found my dream dress in your shop that day, thanks to the help of a lady there. All the guests were impressed and surprised at the story of my dream charity shop dress! Thanks so much.
